OBJECTIVE

I have worked as an Au Pair and as a Nanny in England since the 7th of March 2004. During this time I have worked for three families and had the sole charge of the children whilst the parents are at work/away on business. My principle function over the months has been to look after the children including preparing the children’s meals. Totally approximately 25 hours as an Au Pair plus additional child caring and babysitting for other families and approximately 60 hours as a Nanny per week. In September 2005 I started my NVQ 2, which I completed in July 2006. In September 2006 I started my NVQ 3, which I will complete in July 2008.

My experience has covered working with children between the ages of 2-16 yrs, however preferred age range is that of my current family 2-6 yrs (furthermore my work whilst studying towards my NVQ 3 at Nursery School covers this age group where I have also undertaken a small amount of paid employment covering for staff sickness).

WORK EXPERIENCE

August 2006 – July 2007    Sole Charge Nanny, Agar Family   
This was a sole charge position in which I cared for a 3 year old girl and a 4 year old boy. Duties including getting children ready for school and picking up respectively, arranging play dates, preparing their meals, taking them to their hobbies (girl-ballet and swimming, boy-judo, swimming and speech therapy), taking trips to the park, entertaining the children in creative activities, doing the children’s washing and ironing as well as keeping the children’s room tidy, helping the children with any homework they may have, getting them ready for bed including bath or shower, reading bed time stories. On occasions I did the family’s shopping.
Reasons for Leaving:  Mrs Agar cannot find a part-time job after her maternity break so she cannot pay me anymore.

January 2005 – July 2006    Au Pair, Clarke and Harrison Family
This was a sole charge position in which I cared for a 2 year old boy and a 5 year old boy. Duties including picking the children up from school and nursery respectively, preparing meals, arranging play dates for the children, taking the 5 year old boy to karate lessons, entertaining the children in creative activities, taking trips to the park, museums as well as to children’s play places and helping the 5 year old boy with any homework he may have.
Reasons for Leaving: 2 year old boy is going to start school full-time and hours decreased significantly so they will not require my service anymore.

March 2004 – December 2004   Au Pair, Marrable Family
This was a sole charge position in which I cared for 4 children age 4, 5, 12 and 14.
Duties included getting the children ready for school and picking up respectively, arranging play dates, preparing their meals, taking trips to the park, taking the children swimming and helping the children with any homework they may have. On occasions getting the children ready for bed including bath and reading stories to the two younger children.
Reasons for Leaving: They didn’t require my service anymore as they moved to Spain.
